Welcome to Bald Head Island. (The only place in North Carolina where palm trees grow wild due to the semitropical climate!) We have recently sold our wonderful second home here, after owning it for 28 years, so we no longer have it available for rent. But we remain in love with the island and want those who have rented from us before, and those who are new to discovering our website, to still come vacation on this beautiful preserve. So, we are adding links to AirBnB and VRBO for you to view and choose a place to stay.

On the island, there are no cars allowed. You take a ferry across the water and use golf carts or bicycles to get around. You’ll love not only the gorgeous beaches, but the expansive tidal salt marsh where you’ll see herons, ibis, osprey, and even bald eagles and dolphins. Bald Head Island is ideal for couples on a romantic getaway, families on vacation, nature/bird lovers, active sports folks, and ladies’ or guys’ getaways. Bald Head Island provides the perfect place for relaxing, sunbathing, swimming, kayaking, biking, hiking, fishing, crabbing, and “howling at the moon.”

The island has restaurants, a grocery store, gift shops, a post office, bicycle and golf cart rentals, a lighthouse, and a Nature Conservancy. You can purchase day passes for the Club and Spa which offers a beautiful setting, excellent golf course, pool, tennis courts, croquet and fitness facility, as well as a fine-dining restaurant, bar and casual dining.
